Yoga For Old Age: AIIA Organizes Awareness Program Ahead Of International Yoga Day
Ahead of International Yoga Day, an awareness lecture titled “Yoga for Old Age” was organized at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Delhi on Monday.
Celebrated annually on June 21, International Yoga Day honours the ancient Indian practice of yoga, a mind-body discipline that combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to enhance overall health and well-being.
The lecture, held in the patient waiting area of AIIA, attracted approximately 150 patients and attendees. They gathered to gain valuable insights into how regular yoga practice can contribute to maintaining physical and mental well-being during the golden years of life.
To make the event interactive and enjoyable, a yoga-related quiz was conducted. Participants enthusiastically answered questions, demonstrating their knowledge of this ancient discipline. Quiz winners were rewarded with yoga mats, encouraging them to incorporate yoga into their daily routines.
Adding a practical dimension to the celebrations, the organizers hosted a “Yoga Break” session. Attendees had the opportunity to perform simple yoga asanas (postures) and breathing exercises under the guidance of experienced instructors.
