A 3 day Yoga workshop for Sri Lankan Armed Forces commenced in Colombo today
The workshop is organised by Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Colombo with the objective of fostering physical and mental well-being among the Sri Lankan Armed Forces.
This event is a part of the 50-day prelude leading up to the highly anticipated International Day of Yoga. Taking place in five major cities across Sri Lanka, the workshop offers an invaluable opportunity for armed forces personnel to enhance their physical fitness, relieve stress, and cultivate inner peace.
Participants of the workshop at all locations engaged in a comprehensive program consisting of yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation sessions, all specifically tailored to address the unique needs and challenges faced by military personnel.
The 50-day prelude, which officially commenced on May 1, has already witnessed the successful completion of over 40 sessions across the island nation. As an additional highlight, a mega Yoga event is scheduled to take place on June 17 at the iconic Independence Square in Colombo.
The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre’s initiative to provide the Sri Lankan Armed Forces with this yoga workshop underscores the growing recognition of yoga’s benefits for physical and mental well-being, particularly in high-stress professions such as military service. Through this event, participants will not only experience personal growth but will also contribute to the overall promotion of wellness within the armed forces community.
