India begin their campaign in World Squash Championship with 4-0 win over Hong Kong-China

India began their campaign in the World Squash Championship in Chennai with a 4-0 win over Hong Kong-China in a Pool B match yesterday. India’s Abhay Singh beat Hong Kong’s Chung Yat Long 7-2, 7-3, 7-6 while Joshna Chinappa beat Heylie Fung 7-1, 7-5, 7-6.

In the third match, Saurav Ghosal beat To You Ling 5-7,7-2,7-5,7-1 and in the fourth and final match, Tanvi Khanna beat Toby Tse 5-7, 6-7, 7-1, 7-4, 7-3 to seal an emphatic 4-0 margin. India will face South Africa in Pool B and Egypt will face Colombia in Pool A today. Eight teams – hosts India, Australia, Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong China, Japan, Malaysia, and South Africa – are competing for the title at Chennai.
