Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar urges all stake holders to extend positive support to build a strong future of children who don’t have fair opportunities

Indian cricket legend and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar urged all stake holders to extend a positive support to build a strong future of children who don’t have fair opportunities

He said this at an event held at Colombo today.
Earlier yesterday, he visited schools in Sabaragamuwa Province in Sri Lanka where he interacted with children.
Speaking to media, Tendulkar stressed on key elements in shaping children’s future such as focus on early years, adequate nutrition and education. He interacted with children in plantation areas and lauded the efforts of all organisations in the plantation regions predominantly inhabited by Indian Origin Tamils.
It is to be noted that the IOTs arrived in Sri Lanka 200 years ago and many have been living in poor condition without suitable facilities in line houses in tea estates. Efforts have been made by Indian Government and other government and non government organisations to improve the living conditions, healthcare and education facilities in the estates.
The master blaster also played a game of cricket with children and shared his experiences growing up.
Sachin Tendulkar was appointed as the first UNICEF regional goodwill ambassador for South Asia in 2013. Since then he has been playing a pivotal role in improving the lives of children in the region.
