BSF on alert along Indo-Pak border from August 11

Border Security Force (BSF) will run Operation Alert from August 11 to August 17 along the India-Pakistan International Border to thwart infiltration and smuggling attempts in view of the Independence Day.

As India is preparing to celebrate National Independence Day on August 15th, our border security forces have been on alert. Border Security Force (BSF) will run Operation Alert from August 11 to August 17 along the India-Pakistan International Border to thwart infiltration and smuggling attempts in view of the Independence Day.

Under this operation, a close watch will be kept by the BSF near the India-Pakistan border. The number of security checkpoints will be increased and camel patrolling as well as foot patrolling will be enhanced, Inspector General of Border Security Force (Rajasthan Frontier) Puneet Rastogi said. He added that BSF increases its vigilance ahead of Independence Day.

BSF is a paramilitary force that secures India’s border and promote a sense of security among the people living in the border areas. It prevents trans border crimes, unauthorized entry into or exit from the territory of India. BSF remains alert on the border throughout the year, but the border guarding force keeps close monitoring in the perview of Independence Day.

Meanwhile, to pay tributes to the Bravehearts who laid down their lives for the country and mark the conclusion of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Union Ministry of Culture has launched a 21-day nationwide campaign, ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’.
