PM Modi in Indonesia to attend East Asia, ASEAN-Indian summits
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached in Jakarta to participate in the 20th ASEAN-India Summit and 18th East Asia Summit (EAS) being hosted by Indonesia as current Chair of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached in Jakarta to participate in the 20th ASEAN-India Summit and 18th East Asia Summit (EAS) being hosted by Indonesia as current Chair of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
PM Modi was given a ceremonial welcome by the Indian diaspora on his arrival in Indonesia and at the venue of the Summit, the Jakarta Convention Centre, he was welcomed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Earlier, in his departure statement, PM Modi said that he is looking forward to discuss with ASEAN leaders the “future contours” of their partnership with India, which has now entered its fourth decade.
Prime Miniister dubbed the engagement with the ASEAN group as an important pillar of India’s ‘Act East Policy’.
