PM Modi is set to launch 511 skill development centers to enhance skill training

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 511 rural skill development centres in the name of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan in Maharashtra on October 19 via video conferencing. These centers are being set up in 34 rural districts of Maharashtra.

The National Skill Development Mission was officially launched by PM Modi in 2015 on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day. This Mission has been developed to take forward the skill training activities in the regions and states.

National Skill Development Mission will not only integrate and coordinate skilling efforts but also accelerate decision making across all sectors to achieve skilling with speed and standards.

Rural Skill Development Centers will organize skill development training programs in various fields to provide employment opportunities to rural youth. Each center will train around 100 youngsters in at least two vocational courses. The training is being provided by industry partners and agencies employed under the National Skill Development Council.

The establishment of these centers will help the sector achieve significant progress towards developing more capable and skilled manpower.
