More than 6,100 people killed in escalating Palestine-Israel conflict
The ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict had claimed the lives of more than 6,100 people on both sides as the escalating violence entered the 16th day on Sunday.
According to the Israeli Ministry of Health on October 22, more than 1,400 people had been killed and 5,431 others injured on the Israel side since the new round of Palestine-Israel conflict broke out on Oct 7.
Meanwhile, a total of 4,741 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank had been killed and over 15,000 others injured. Among them, 4,651 people were killed in the Gaza Strip and 90 were killed in the West Bank, according to the latest figures released by the Palestinian Health Ministry on the same day.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Sunday said Israel’s upcoming ground offensive in the Gaza Strip may last three months, but it will be the very last one if Israel succeeds in eliminating Hamas, according to local media.
Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, launched a massive surprise attack on Israel on Oct 7. In response, the Israeli military conducted airstrikes targeting Hamas sites and headquarters in the coastal enclave. The new round of conflict has led massive casualties on both sides.
