Nations evacuate citizens from Gaza Strip amid ongoing conflict

As violence continues to claim lives in the Israel-Palestine conflict, several countries have launched operations to evacuate their citizens, with more planning similar actions in the days ahead.
The evacuation of Polish citizens from Gaza started on Sunday via the Rafah border crossing, with plans to transport them to a hotel in Cairo before flying them to Poland.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Monday welcomed 32 Brazilian nationals evacuated from Gaza, arriving at the Brasilia Air Base after a nearly day-long flight facilitated by his government.

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday announced the departure of the first group of Russian citizens evacuated from Gaza. A group of 70 Russians left the Palestinian enclave via the Egyptian Rafah border point earlier in the day and was then transported to the capital Cairo.
Governments worldwide have organized repatriation flights from Tel Aviv in response to the escalating conflict.
Under ‘Operation Ajay,’ India evacuated its citizens from Israel in October.

Argentina initiated evacuations using a Hercules airplane from Tel Aviv to Rome.

Australia arranged special flights from Tel Aviv to London on Oct. 13 and Oct. 15.

Austria’s armed forces started evacuating Austrians on Oct. 11, with a transport plane carrying passengers to Cyprus.

Chile evacuated 209 citizens to Athens and Madrid from Israel on three Boeing 737 flights on Oct. 12.

Several other countries, including Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, the UK, USA, France, Ukraine, Netherlands, Thailand, and Spain, also conducted evacuations in October amid rising tensions between Israel and Hamas.

The Gaza Strip continues to face bombardment by Israel, targeting Hamas, the militant group governing the enclave. Hamas launched attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, resulting in approximately 1,200 casualties.
