Vice-President Dhankhar to launch ‘Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman’ campaign
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar is set to inaugurate the ‘Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman’ campaign on January 24 at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, marking India’s 75th year as a Republic. The year-long nationwide initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law and Justice, aims to reaffirm the nation’s commitment to the principles enshrined in the Constitution of India.
The campaign seeks to celebrate the shared values that bind the diverse population, fostering a sense of pride and responsibility in upholding constitutional ideals. Emphasizing citizen participation, the initiative encourages individuals to actively contribute to the democratic journey of the country.
The key theme of the campaign, ‘Sabko Nyay – Har Ghar Nyaya,’ aims to connect villagers through Village Level Entrepreneurs, urging them to take the Sabko Nyay pledge. The initiative includes ‘Nyaya Sahayaks’ to spread awareness about citizen-centric legal services at the grassroots level, while Nyaya Seva Melas at the state/UT level will provide platforms for individuals to seek guidance on legal services and government schemes.
Under ‘Nav Bharat Nav Sankalp,’ citizens are urged to embrace the resolutions of Panch Pran by reading the Panch Pran Pledge. Creative expressions are encouraged through activities like Panch Pran Rangotsav (Poster Making) and Panch Pran Anubhav (Reel/Video making) competitions hosted on the My Gov platform.
The ‘Vidhi Jagriti Abhiyan’ engages students in carrying the message of Panch Pran to villages adopted by Law colleges through the Pro Bono Club scheme. The initiative aims to disseminate legal information in an engaging and entertaining manner, focusing on rights, responsibilities, and entitlements, particularly among vulnerable sections of society.
During the inauguration event, the revolutionary ‘Nyaya Setu’ will be launched, extending legal services to the last mile. This initiative provides a unified legal interface for information, advice, and assistance, fostering a more inclusive and just society.
The event will also witness the release of the achievement booklet of the Scheme on Access to Justice ‘Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice’ (DISHA). Notably, the Tele Law Programme under DISHA has connected over 67 lakh citizens for pre-litigation advice, showcasing its substantial impact.
Minister of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Attorney General of India, R. Venkatramani, will attend the event as Guests of Honour, alongside dignitaries from Bhashini and IGNOU formalizing collaboration with the Department of Justice.
