IMD predicts heavy snowfall in Western Himalayan region, rains in northwest plains

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the arrival of a new active Western Disturbance, expected to bring widespread rainfall and snowfall over the Western Himalayan Region from February 17 to 20, and the adjoining plains of northwest India from February 19 to 21.

Additionally, the weather agency reported dense fog conditions in parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

Meanwhile, the national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius on Thursday, with the minimum temperature dropping to 8.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the normal range. The Central Pollution Control Board reported the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) at 273 at 7 A.M. on Friday. An AQI between 201 and 300 is categorized as poor, while 301 to 400 falls under the very poor range, and 401 to 500 is considered severe.
