PM Modi to unveil over 2000 railway infrastructure projects valued at Rs. 41,000 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday is set to unveil around 2000 railway infrastructure projects with an estimated value exceeding Rs. 41,000 crore. The inauguration ceremony will be conducted via video conferencing.

Among the highlights of the event, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 553 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These stations, spanning across 27 states and Union territories, will undergo a transformation with an investment exceeding Rs. 19,000 crore.

The redevelopment plan focuses on not just modernization but also on integrating local culture, heritage, and architecture into the design. Emphasis is placed on enhancing passenger experience with features like roof plazas, picturesque landscaping, improved connectivity, modern facades, recreational areas for children, kiosks, food courts, and facilities catering to differently abled individuals.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the revamped Gomti Nagar station in Uttar Pradesh, a project completed at a cost of approximately Rs. 385 crore. Bulit to accommodate future passenger influx, the station has segregated arrival and departure facilities. This state-of-the-art, centrally air-conditioned station offers modern amenities such as spacious concourses, hassle-free circulation areas, food courts, and ample parking across upper and lower basements.

Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and unveil 1500 road over bridges and underpasses spanning 24 states and Union territories. Valued at around Rs. 21,520 crore, these projects aim to alleviate congestion, bolster safety and connectivity, enhance capacity, and optimize efficiency in rail travel.
