The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, has strongly condemned multiple cowardly attacks carried out in churches and hotels in Colombo and neighbouring towns targeting innocent worshipers and civilians, which killed hundreds and wounded many people.

Extending the solidarity of OIC with Sri Lanka at this painful moment, the Secretary-General offered his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, Government and people of Sri Lanka on the tragic loss of lives and wished a speedy recovery to the injured people.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen expressed his firm rejection of these terrorist acts, which violate the sanctity of human life and reiterated the principled position of the OIC against all forms of terrorism and extremism.

He called on authorities to identify and bring perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice. He, once again, repeated his call for international solidarity in the fight against the scourge of terrorism.
