Korean film and tourism festival begins in Dhaka

The annual Korean film and tourism festival was inaugurated in Dhaka on Wednesday. The three day festival is showcasing five films and other live activities such as virtual tour, Korean folk games, Hanbok wearing, Dalgona Candy making and instant photoshoot among others. The inaugural function began with a performance by a Bangladeshi girls k-pop group named Rebel’s Groove. The cultural performance was followed by the premiere of the 2019 Oscar award winner film ‘Parasite’. Over the next two days four other films namely Mal-mo-e: The Secret Mission, Kim Ji Young, Born 1982, Alive and Red Shoes and Seven dwarfs will be shown during the festival. Bangladesh State Minister for Culture K M Khalid was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He said that such programmes strengthen cultural exchange between the two countries. South Korean ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun said that the Korean embassy has been organising the film festival in Dhaka for the last 10 years. He expressed the hope that such festivals will be appreciated by the people of Bangladesh. Large number of students and film lovers attended the opening cultural programme and the film show at the National Museum Venue at Dhaka.
