Union Minister Rane interacts with beneficiaries of PM Vishwakarma scheme

Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Narayan Rane on Thursday interacted with the beneficiaries of PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

Welcoming the beneficiaries, who have been invited to attend the Republic Day parade as special guests, Rane highlighted the scheme’s purpose of supporting traditional artisans and craftspeople in villages. He pointed out that the initiative aims to assist them in enhancing their crafts and skills, enabling them to become entrepreneurs and establish their own enterprises.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2023, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme offers support to artisans and craftspeople across 18 trades. Currently, 2,87,964 applications have been successfully registered under the scheme.

Of these beneficiaries, 108 are female artisans and 148 are male artisans. A total of 256 PM Vishwakarma scheme beneficiaries, along with their spouses, will be attending the Republic Day Event on January 26.
