IMD forecasts fresh rainfall and snowfall in Western Himalayas
Additionally, yellow warning has been issued for thunder and lightning on March 6 and 7 in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating a fresh spell of rainfall and snowfall across the Western Himalayan region from March 5 to 7.
The new weather pattern is attributed to a western disturbance, which is expected to bring scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and isolated rainfall or snowfall over Uttarakhand during the mentioned period.
Furthermore, a yellow warning has been issued for thunder and lightning on March 6 and 7 in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh.
In addition to this, a cyclonic circulation has been identified over northeast Assam in lower tropospheric levels. With its influence and the eastward movement of the current western disturbance, the IMD predicts scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh over the next three days.
The weather agency has also forecast hot and humid conditions over Rayalaseema and Kerala for the next 2-3 days.
