Apple starts its iPhone 16 series sale in India, long queues seen outside stores
Long queues formed outside Apple stores on Friday as the tech giant began selling its latest generation of iPhones in India.
Eager customers gathered at Delhi’s Saket store and the flagship store in Mumbai’s BKC, awaiting their chance to purchase the new iPhone 16.
Akshay, who arrived at 6 AM, shared his excitement after purchasing the iPhone 16 Pro Max. “I love iOS 18, and the zoom camera quality has improved significantly,” he said.
Another dedicated customer, Ujjwal Shah, waited for 21 hours to be among the first to get the new phone. “I’ve been here since 11 AM yesterday and will be the first to enter the store at 8 AM today. The atmosphere in Mumbai is electric!” Shah said.
In addition to in-store purchases, the new iPhone 16 can also be delivered within minutes via quick-commerce platforms like Blinkit and BB Now.
Albinder Dhindsa, co-founder and CEO of Blinkit, announced that his company would deliver the iPhone 16 on launch day in major cities including Delhi, NCR, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.
“Get the all-new iPhone 16 delivered in 10 minutes! We’ve partnered with @UnicornAPR for the third consecutive year to bring the latest iPhone to our customers,” Dhindsa said on social media. He also mentioned that Unicorn is offering discounts with select credit cards and providing EMI options.
Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 variants in the second week of September. The base model, with 128 GB of storage, is priced at Rs 79,900.
