Nayab Singh Saini set to take oath as chief minister of Haryana for second consecutive term
Senior BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for a second consecutive term today. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Shalimar Ground in Panchkula, with key NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expected to attend.
Saini met with Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Wednesday to officially stake his claim to form a new government following his election as the leader of the BJP legislative party. The party projected him as its Chief Ministerial candidate during the recent assembly elections, which resulted in a resounding victory.
Chief Minister-designate Saini revealed that the results of the recruitment examination for 24,000 government jobs in the state will also be declared today. He mentioned that candidates selected by the Haryana Public Service Commission and Haryana Staff Selection Commission have been granted additional time to submit their character verification and medical certificates.
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Anil Vij expressed confidence in the party’s leadership, bolstered by the support of independent MLAs. Three independent legislators—Savitri Jindal, Rajesh Joon, and Devender Kadyan—have announced their backing for the Haryana BJP Legislative Party and plan to submit letters of support to the Governor on Wednesday.
Savitri Jindal, representing Hisar, stated, “I believe in the development of Hisar and Haryana, and I trust CM Nayab Singh Saini to lead this effort.” Rajesh Joon from Bahadurgarh echoed her sentiments, emphasizing his support for the BJP’s policies and commitment to development.
Devender Kadyan, representing Ganaur, confirmed their collective decision to support the BJP, stating, “All three of us will submit our letters to the Governor as we’ve decided to support the BJP for the betterment of our regions.”
