Dhaka airport runway to close for 3.5 hours per night for a week

The runway of Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport will be closed for three and a half hours each night for maintenance work from November 8 to 14. The runway will be shut down daily from 1:00 AM to 4:30 AM, according to an airport official in a message on Monday.

All flight landing and takeoff operations at the airport will be temporarily suspended during this repair period.

The official explained that routine maintenance activities include the upkeep of the runway lighting system. The closure will result in 3.5 hours of downtime each night, during which all runway operations and flight activities will be halted.

Notices have already been issued to all relevant airlines and organizations regarding this closure. Passengers are advised to check their flight schedules in advance and confirm with their respective airlines. For further assistance, they can contact the airport’s call center at 13600.
