Parliamentary Standing Committee reviews Flagship Mission projects in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, January 22, 2025: A Parliamentary Standing Committee of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs comprised members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha led by Chairman Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy and other members of the committee reviewed implementation of various programmes and flagship schemes of MoHUA in Chandigarh.
The review meeting held here today at Hotel Taj was attended by Manish Tewari, Member Parliament, Chandigarh, Rajeev Verma, IAS, Chief Secretary, UT, Chandigarh, Amit Kumar, IAS, MC Commissioner and other senior officers of Chandigarh.
During the meeting various schemes and flagship programmes including Housing and Urban Affairs, Urban Planning, Smart City, MC Chandigarh, PMAY (U), Transport were discussed in detail. The committee noted the progress made by the different departments of Chandigarh.
The delegation also noted the progress made by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh on different schemes including AMRUT, PMSVANidhi, DAY-NULM, Swachh Bharat Mission and Smart City Mission. A detailed presentation was made by the MC Commissioner on waste processing management in city and other projects are being implemented by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.
During the meeting Manish Tewari, Member Parliament, Chandigarh also raised various issues concerning the city beautiful.
Other senior officers of Chandigarh Administration were also present in the meeting namely Diprava Lakra, IAS, Finance Secretary, Ajay Chagti, IAS, Secretary Local Government, Pradhuman Singh, Director Transport and other senior officers of MC, Chandigarh.
