Jaishankar to strengthen ties with UK and Ireland during official visit

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will embark on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland from March 4 to 9. The visit is aimed at strengthening India’s diplomatic and economic relations with both countries, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release.

The United Kingdom and India share a comprehensive strategic partnership, which has advanced significantly across a wide range of sectors, including defence, security, trade, economy, health, education, and people-to-people connections.

During his visit to the UK, Jaishankar is set to engage in discussions with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy and meet other senior officials. The EAM will also connect with the Indian community in the UK, fostering stronger cultural and social ties between the two nations.

Jaishankar’s visit will continue in Ireland from March 6 to 7, where India maintains cordial bilateral relations based on shared democratic values, cultural affinities, and expanding economic engagement.

While in Ireland, the EAM will hold talks with his Irish counterpart, Simon Harris, as well as with other prominent officials. He will also meet members of the Indian diaspora, recognizing their invaluable contribution to both countries.
