President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, to visit India for strengthening bilateral ties

President Gabriel Boric Font of Chile will make a visit to India from April 1-5 to strengthen bilateral relations and discuss key regional and international matters, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. This will be his first visit to India as president.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, members of parliament, and business leaders, President Boric will engage in discussions aimed at expanding cooperation between India and Chile, particularly in areas such as trade, climate change, and innovation.

The visit will begin with talks between President Boric and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 1, 2025. Prime Minister Modi will also host a luncheon in the President’s honor. The Chilean President will also meet with President Draupadi Murmu, who will host a state banquet to mark the occasion.

In addition to Delhi, President Boric will visit Agra, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, where he will meet with political leaders, business representatives, and tech innovators. Chile remains an important Latin American partner for India, with shared interests in international matters, including UNSC reforms and renewable energy.

This visit signifies a new chapter in the already strong ties between India and Chile, reflecting a commitment to enhance cooperation in various sectors.
