NZ Pacer Jacob Duffy tops ICC T20I bowling rankings

New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy has climbed to the No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings, following his stellar performance in the recent 4-1 series win against Pakistan.

Duffy, who leapfrogged West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein, claimed 13 wickets at an exceptional average of 8.38 during the series, solidifying his position as the format’s top bowler. The 29-year-old surged past notable names like Wanindu Hasaranga, Adil Rashid, and Varun Chakravarthy to achieve this milestone. This marks the first time Duffy has held the No.1 ranking in any format, and he becomes the first New Zealand bowler to top the T20I charts since Ish Sodhi in 2018.

Meanwhile, top-order batter Tim Seifert has broken into the top 10 of the T20I batting rankings, moving up to eighth place after scoring 249 runs at an average of 62.25 in the series, including a blistering 97 off 38 balls in the final match. His opening partner, Finn Allen, has also moved up one spot to 15th.

All-rounder Jimmy Neesham has made significant strides in the T20I all-rounder rankings, jumping 14 places to 30th after impactful performances with both bat and ball. The list continues to be led by India’s Hardik Pandya.

In the ODI rankings, Mark Chapman surged 24 places to 78th following his match-winning 132 off 111 balls, while Pakistan’s Salman Agha moved up six places to 37th after a solid 58-run knock. Among bowlers, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf climbed nine spots to 16th, while teammate Naseem Shah rose one place to 42nd.

New Zealand’s fast bowlers William O’Rourke (up 15 places to 56th) and Duffy (up 14 places to 95th) also made notable progress in the ODI bowling rankings.
