PM Modi says NDA govt committed to all-round development of Bihar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the NDA government is committed to the all-round development of Bihar as he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth around Rs 13,000 crore across key sectors.

Speaking at a function in Gaya, the prime minister said the projects cover power, road, health, urban development and water supply. “The NDA government is fully committed to the all-round development of Bihar. From the sacred land of Gaya Ji, I had the privilege of inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth thousands of crores,” he said.

PM Modi also flagged off two trains, the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma, which, he said, would give a boost to tourism and religious travel across Buddhist sites in the region.

The prime minister symbolically handed over keys to a few beneficiaries under the ‘Grih Pravesh’ ceremony of 12,000 rural households and 4,260 urban beneficiaries covered under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

“I have a firm resolve — until every needy person gets a permanent house, Modi will not rest easy. With this very thought, over the past 11 years, more than four crore poor people have been provided with permanent houses,” he said, adding that easing the lives of the poor and women gave him the greatest joy.

PM Modi also praised the Nitish Kumar government for officially naming the city ‘Gaya Ji’. “This land is the land of spirituality and peace… I congratulate the Bihar government on this decision. The double-engine government of Bihar is continuously working for the rapid development of Gaya Ji,” he said.
