Flood Relief: Punjab Govt announces compensation for dead goats, chickens

Chandigarh, September 29, 2025 – Punjab Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian announced in the state assembly that the government will provide compensation for livestock lost in recent floods. Farmers will receive Rs 4,000 for each goat and Rs 100 for each dead chicken.

While addressing the opposition in the assembly, Mundian said, “We are fulfilling the promises we made. The opposition has no agenda other than politics. We will compensate for all losses, including goats and chickens.”

This move comes as part of the state government’s relief measures for flood-affected farmers, aiming to provide financial support and help them recover from the disaster.
