Harjinder Dhami re-elected as SGPC President for 5th time;

Chandigarh, November 3, 2025: In a major development, Harjinder Singh Dhami has been re-elected as the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the fifth consecutive time. The election for the top post was held today in Amritsar.

According to official results, Dhami secured 117 votes, while his rival candidate Mitthu Singh managed to get only 18 votes. With this victory, Dhami continues his leadership of the SGPC, the apex religious body responsible for the management of gurdwaras and Sikh religious affairs.

Dhami’s re-election reflects continued confidence in his leadership within the SGPC and the Shiromani Akali Dal circles that traditionally influence the committee’s functioning.
