Delhi Blast: Red Fort shut for 3 days; Traffic police issues advisory

Babushahi Bureau

New Delhi, November 11, 2025: Following Monday evening’s massive car explosion near Red Fort Metro Station, security agencies have stepped up vigilance across the national capital.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has announced that the Red Fort will remain closed to visitors for the next three days, citing security and investigation reasons. No tourist entry will be allowed inside the monument till November 13.

The Delhi Traffic Police has sealed Netaji Subhash Marg from 6 AM today until further notice. Both carriageways and service roads from Chatta Rail Cut to Subhash Marg Cut have been closed to vehicular movement.

Commuters have been advised to avoid the affected routes and use alternative roads as traffic diversions are expected to remain in place for several days.

The blast has triggered a high alert across Delhi, with security intensified at IGI Airport, India Gate, Parliament House, and border areas.

Delhi Police has registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Specialized teams from the National Security Guard (NSG) and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) are on-site collecting evidence.

DCP North Raja Banthia stated that the investigation is still in its early stages and it would be premature to draw conclusions. He confirmed that six bodies have been identified so far, while post-mortem examinations of five victims have already been completed at LNJP Hospital.

He added, “Yes, there are one or two unidentified bodies as well. We are working to establish their identities.”
