Rajinder Gupta meets Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav, discusses halt of Vande Bharat at Barnala and restoration of Bathinda-Delhi Shatabdi

New Delhi, December 4, 2025: Rajya Sabha Member and Trident Group Chairman Rajinder Gupta met Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, here today.

This was the first meeting between the two leaders after Gupta was elected to the Rajya Sabha. Gupta urged the Railway Minister to ensure that the recently launched Vande Bharat train from Ferozepur also stops at Barnala. The Railway Minister said the demand is under consideration, as Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Bittu has also raised the same request.

Gupta also requested that the Bathinda–New Delhi Shatabdi, via Sangrur, be resumed.

It is worth mentioning that people have been demanding a Vande Bharat stop at Barnala.
