India’s Former Ambassador To US Taranjit Sandhu Appointed Delhi Lieutenant Governor

New Delhi, March 06, 2026: Former Indian Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

The appointment was announced through an official notification, marking Sandhu’s entry into a key constitutional role after an extensive diplomatic career representing India abroad.

Sandhu previously served as India’s Ambassador to the United States, where he played an important role in strengthening India–US strategic and economic ties.
