India Post to launch ‘24 Speed Post’ for next-day guaranteed delivery in six major cities
The Department of Posts will launch a new premium express delivery service, “24 Speed Post,” offering next-day guaranteed delivery for urgent consignments across six major cities starting March 17.
The service will be launched by Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani at the Rangbhawan Auditorium in Akashwani Bhawan in New Delhi.
In the first phase, the service will be available in six major metropolitan cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Along with the new service, the department will also offer 48 Speed Post options, ensuring D+2 (two-day) delivery timeline through dedicated processing windows and priority air transmission.
The Communications Ministry said the upgraded services will include several additional features such as OTP-based secure delivery, end-to-end tracking with SMS alerts, and a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) facility for business customers.
Bulk customers will benefit from free pickup services, API integration and centralised billing, making the service more convenient for e-commerce and corporate users.
The department will also provide money-back guarantee in case of delivery delays, further strengthening India Post’s premium express delivery capabilities.
