High Commission of India in Sri Lanka is organising a seminar and exhibition to hallmark India’s defence manufacturing capabilities
As an event to hallmark India’s defence manufacturing capabilities, High Commission of India in Sri Lanka is organising a seminar and exhibition.
The India Sri Lanka Defence seminar cum exhibition will be held on Wednesday at Taj Samudra in Colombo. The event aims to foster a stable and peaceful Indian Ocean region, aligning with India’s vision of Security and Growth for All in the Region.
The seminar seeks to identify areas of cooperation for economic revival while bolstering the capacity building of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces.
The grand seminar will feature a comprehensive exhibition showcasing the capabilities and capacities of both countries in defense equipment manufacturing. This exhibition will be open to the public, offering them a firsthand experience of various defense equipment on display.
It is worth mentioning that the Sri Lankan Armed Forces have successfully utilized a wide range of Indian defense equipment, such as the Indra Radar, Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessels, L 70 Guns, Dornier Aircraft, and Army training simulators. Similarly, the Indian armed forces have benefited from the use of Fast Interceptor Crafts and the refit of a Floating Dock in Colombo. In line with India’s ‘Neighborhood First’ policy, the Government of India has recently committed to supplying a Floating Dock, a Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, and Dornier aircraft to further strengthen the capacity building of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces.
