The Saudi Food Show 2023, hailed as the “largest food event the Kingdom would have seen yet,” commenced yesterday with grandeur and high expectations. Organizers anticipate that the three-day event, running from June 20 to June 22, will mark the beginning of a long-lasting relationship between the Saudi food scene and the rest of the world. This is the first of its kind Food Show or exhibition in Riyadh.

Themed as ‘Rise with the new food economy,’ the Saudi Food Show is a collaborative effort, drawing support from the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Investment, the Saudi Ports Authority, the Agricultural Investment Fund, and the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Together, they aim to showcase the vast potential and culinary prowess of the Kingdom to a global audience.

Among the distinguished visitors to the event, Ambassador of India to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, accompanied by Second Secretary of Commerce Ritu Yadav, paid a special visit to the stalls of Indian companies participating in the Saudi Food Show.

Impressively, India boasted the second-largest number of participating companies with over 30 enterprises eagerly presenting their offerings at the exhibition. The Indian contingent proudly showcased a wide array of their country’s delicacies, including renowned basmati rice, aromatic condiments, tea varieties, and confectionery products. While some Indian companies already enjoy a strong market presence in Saudi Arabia, others are seeking to establish fresh business connections and expand their reach.

The enthusiastic participation of Indian companies underscores the growing interest and mutual benefits derived from the Saudi-Indian trade relations. The Saudi Food Show presents a unique opportunity for Saudi Arabian consumers and businesses to experience the diverse flavors and quality products that India has to offer, fostering cultural exchange and strengthening economic ties.

Riyadh residents and visitors alike are flocking to the exhibition, eagerly exploring the vast array of culinary delights from across the globe. As the first-of-its-kind food show and exhibition in Riyadh, it is creating a buzz among food enthusiasts, industry professionals, and investors, serving as a catalyst for future collaborations and partnerships in the ever-evolving global food economy.

With the Saudi Food Show 2023 setting the stage for a promising future, it is clear that Saudi Arabia is poised to become a vibrant hub, welcoming cuisines from all corners of the world and establishing itself as a culinary destination on the global map.
