Canada Open 2023: Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu & Lakshya Sen to clash in Singles’ Second round tonight

In the Canada Open Badminton tournament, India’s PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen have advanced into the next round of their respective categories. While PV Sindhu began her campaign with a 21-16, 21-9 victory against Talia Ng of Canada in the women’s singles first round yesterday, Lakshya Sen defeated Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn 21-18, 21-15 in the men’s singles category.

However, B Sai Praneeth and Gadde Shivani were knocked out of the tournament after a defeat in the first round. B Sai Praneeth lost to Brazil’s Coelho Ygor 21-12, 21-17 while Gadde Shivani was defaeted by Supanida Katethong of Thailand 21-12, 21-3.

Earlier, the Indian duo of V. G. Panjala and K. P. Garaga defeated Chinese Taipei’s Chen Zhi Ray and Lu Chen 21-14, 21-16, to enter the second round.

However, Swetaparna Panda and R. Panda lost their women’s doubles first round match. Today, in the second round of the tournament, PV Sindhu will be in action against Japan’s Natsuki Nidaira in women’s singles category, while Lakshya Sen will face Coelho Ygor of Brazil in men’s singles category. In men’s doubles category, V. G. Panjala and K. P. Garaga will be up against Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan of Indonesia.
