Reigning champion Novak Djokovic beat old rival Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland

In Tennis, reigning champion Novak Djokovic beat old rival Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland to reach the last 16 and move closer to an eighth men’s singles Wimbledon title. Djokovic won 6-3 6-1 7-6 (7-5) last night.

World number one Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz defeated Alexandre Muller of France 6-4 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 to move into the third round.

Fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece beat two-time champion Andy Murray 7-6 (3), 6-7 (2), 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 in round two. With this loss, Murray’s hopes of a fine Wimbledon victory on the 10th anniversary of his 2013 title win ended.
