Indian Navy Chief Hari Kumar visits Duqm to discuss Anti-Piracy Mission
Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar is on a three-day visit to Oman from July 31 to August 2 to consolidate existing bilateral defence relations and hold high-level discussions with the military leadership of Oman.
Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar recently paid a visit to the Port of Duqm during his official trip to Oman. The purpose of the visit was to meet with the crew of INS Trikand, which is currently deployed in the region for crucial anti-piracy operations.
During his visit, Admiral R Hari Kumar engaged in discussions with the dedicated crew members of INS Trikand, commending them for their unwavering commitment to maintaining maritime security in the area. The interaction provided an opportunity for the naval chief to gain valuable insights into the ongoing anti-piracy efforts and the challenges faced by the crew on their mission.
In addition to addressing the crew, Admiral R Hari Kumar was also given a comprehensive tour of the Port of Duqm, where he witnessed firsthand the cutting-edge facilities available for ship berthing, as well as ship repair and maintenance. The visit allowed him to evaluate the infrastructural capabilities of the port, which plays a crucial role in supporting naval operations in the region.
