ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup: India register fourth consecutive win, defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets in Pune

In the ICC Cricket World Cup, India registered its fourth consecutive win, defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets in Pune last night. Chasing the target of 257 runs, hosts overahuled it in just 41.3 overs posting 261 losing 3 wickets. Virat Kohli smashed 103 runs in 97 balls and remained unbeaten. He has become the fastest player to complete 26,000 international runs, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record. Shubman Gill made 53 runs and Skipper Rohit Sharma made 48.

Earlier, opting to bat first, Bangladesh were restricted to 256 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 50 overs. Litton Das was the top scorer with 66 runs. For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets each. Virat was declared player of the Match. Today, Australia will take on Pakistan in Bengaluru. The match will start at 2 PM.
