Voting is also scheduled to determine the idol of Lord Ram Lalla, which will be installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the grand temple next month.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to visit Ayodhya today after his visit was postponed yesterday due to bad weather. CM Yogi Adityanath will reach Ayodhya at 2 pm.
During his visit, he will oversee the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Ayodhya on December 30. PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate various projects totaling Rs 15 thousand crore in Ayodhya.
CM Yogi will begin his visit by offering prayers at the Hanumangarhi temple and then proceed to the site of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Additionally, he will assess the security arrangements at the venue and the designated areas for the road show.
On Thursday, CM Yogi’s visit to Ayodhya was delayed due to adverse weather conditions and fog in Lucknow, preventing his helicopter from taking off due to poor visibility.
Yogi Adityanath was scheduled to reach Ayodhya yesterday to take stock of the arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the temple town on Saturday.
Simultaneously, voting is scheduled to determine the idol of Lord Ram Lalla, which will be installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the grand temple next month, according to sources.
During the meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust responsible for the construction and management of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, all three designs by separate sculptors will be presented for voting. The design receiving the most votes will be installed during the shrine’s consecration on January 22.
Earlier, trust secretary Champat Rai mentioned that among three designs, a 51-inch-tall idol of Lord Ram resembling a five-year-old—Ram Lalla—would be chosen based on its divine essence and childlike appearance.
According to temple officials, the consecration ceremony will span seven days, commencing on January 16. The temple trust’s appointed host, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, will conduct the atonement ceremony on January 16. This will include the ‘Dashvidh’ bath, Vishnu worship, and offerings to cows on the banks of the Saryu River.
