India defeats Afghanistan by six wickets in second tie of the 3-match T20 series
In Men’s Cricket, India defeated Afghanistan by six wickets in the second tie of the three-match T20 series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore last night.
Chasing 173 runs for a victory, India made 173 for loss of four wickets in 15.4 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the top scorer with 68 runs while Shivam Dube made unbeaten 63 runs for India. For Afghanistan, Karim Janat scalped two wickets while Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-ul-Haq took one wicket each. Earlier, India had won the toss and opted to field first. Put into bat, Afghanistan were all out for 172 in the stipulated twenty overs. Gulbadin Naib was the top scorer with 57 for Afghanistan. For hosts, Arshdeep Singh scalped three wickets, Ravi Bishnoi & Axar Patel took two wickets each, and Shivam Dube claimed one wicket. Axar Patel was declared Player of the Match. With the win, the Indian cricket team took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. India won the first match in Mohali by six wickets.
The third and final T-20 of the three-match series will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru tomorrow at 7 pm
