MeitY to hold first-ever Future Skills Summit in Guwahati

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and IT (NIELIT), is set to host the Future Skills Summit in Guwahati today. The event will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The Summit aims to bring together young Indians, thought leaders, industry experts, policymakers, educators, and technology enthusiasts to discuss strategies for catalyzing future-ready talent for India and the world.

The Summit will focus on the impact of rapid digitization globally, emphasizing new opportunities for young Indians in cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Semiconductors, Robotics, and Cybersecurity. These advancements offer significant prospects for the country’s youth.

Recognizing the importance of skills in driving prosperity, the summit aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to transform India into a global talent hub. The key objective is to create a roadmap that capitalizes on emerging technologies and establishes partnerships with industry and academic institutes nationwide. Over 20 strategic collaborations are expected between NIELIT and prominent entities like Intel, HCL, Microsoft, Kindryl, IIM Raipur, IIITM Gwalior, Wipro, and others.

The summit will include four panel discussions on the themes of Semicon India, IndiaAI, Cyber Security & Emerging Technologies, and Digital India’s Talent for the Global Workforce. Renowned experts and industry leaders will participate in these discussions, providing insights and strategies for building future skills.
