INDUS-X Summit to boost India-U.S. defence cooperation

The India-U.S. Defence Acceleration Ecosystem summit, INDUS-X, began in New Delhi on Tuesday. The two-day aims to enhance strategic technology partnerships and defence cooperation between the two nations.

Organized by India’s Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) and the U.S. Department of Defence, in collaboration with the US-India Business Council and Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), INDUS-X was launched in June 2023 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the U.S.

The summit will bring together stakeholders from both countries to explore and leverage emerging opportunities in defence innovation.

Featuring panel discussions, workshops, senior leaders’ forums, and felicitations for joint challenge winners, the summit intends to shape the future of U.S.-India defence relations. Participants include representatives from governments, academia, research organizations, investors, defence startups, technology incubators, and industry associations. The event will also recognize winners of the Joint INDUS X challenge under the IMPACT program.

Expected to pave the way for future technological advancements and strategic partnerships, the summit will foster cross-national science and technology networks. It seeks to enhance connectivity among domestic entrepreneurs, markets, skilling institutions, government labs, and investment capital, crucial for successful innovation ecosystems.
