Jammu’s ‘Tawi Festival’ set to showcase cultural diversity and talent
The ‘Tawi Festival’ is all set to light up Jammu and Kashmir with its colourful celebration of local culture and heritage. Starting from March 1, this four-day festival will showcase the vibrant traditions that make Jammu unique.
This year, the focus is on highlighting the diverse art forms and cultural treasures of the Jammu region. Young people will have a chance to showcase their talents and share ideas with experts in different fields.
The festival will feature a variety of activities including seminars, workshops, folk music performances, street theatre, and classical and folk dances. There will also be a bustling fair where visitors can explore local entrepreneurship, innovation, and delicious cuisines, especially organic products from women’s groups in the Himalayan region.
The grand finale will be held at the University of Jammu, bringing an academic aspect to the cultural festivities. Dr. Jyotsna Singh, Director of Amar Mahal Museum and Library (AMML), said the event highlights the collaborative efforts of faculty members from various disciplines.
