IMD predicts fresh spell of rainfall over East and Central India for next few days
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over East and Central India for the next few days.
According to the weather agency, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh and isolated light rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from March 14 to 20.
Isolated light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and winds gusting up to 40 kmph is also likely over Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and East Madhya Pradesh till March 20.
A yellow alert has been issued on March 16 for thunder and lightning in Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.
The IMD also predicted isolated light rainfall or snowfall very likely over the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on March 15 and 16.
Meanwhile, heat wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets of North Interior Karnataka on March 15. Further, hot and humid weather is very likely to prevail over Kerala, Mahe, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during next 5 days.
