Excise policy case: Delhi CM Kejriwal sent to judicial custody till April 15

A Delhi court on Monday sent Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody until April 15 in the excise policy case.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Kejriwal in connection with corruption allegations related to the city’s liquor policy and he had been remanded to the agency’s custody until April 1.

Lawyers for the ED said on Monday that Kejriwal had been “non-cooperative” and was “giving evasive replies,” and asked the court to remand him to judicial custody for 15 days.

Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal and Delhi Ministers Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi were also present inside the courtroom.
