Government Extends Deadline For Green Hydrogen Research Proposals
The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has extended the deadline to April 27 for the submission of research proposals under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This move comes as stakeholders requested more time to prepare and submit their proposals.
The National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched on January 4, 2023, aims to promote the production, storage, transportation, and utilization of green hydrogen. Green hydrogen is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels, as it is produced using renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power.
Under the research and development (R&D) scheme of the mission, the government plans to allocate Rs. 400 crores until the financial year 2025-26. This funding is intended to support projects focused on improving the efficiency, safety, and reliability of green hydrogen technologies.
Following the issuance of guidelines on March 15, the Ministry issued a Call for Proposals on March 16. While the response to the call has been positive, some stakeholders have requested additional time to prepare their proposals.
This extension aims to provide institutions with sufficient time to submit high-quality proposals for consideration under the R&D scheme.
