India and Bangladesh to renew collaboration on civil service training
A delegation from India’s Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) is in Bangladesh to bolster bilateral ties and enhance capacity-building efforts.
During the three-day visit from April 28-30, the discussions will focus on the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India’s National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and Bangladesh’s Ministry of Public Administration. The MoU, initially signed in 2014, facilitates capacity-building programs for civil servants in Bangladesh.
Since the MoU was signed, a total of 71 capacity-building programs have been conducted, benefiting 2600 civil servants in Bangladesh. The country has shown a keen interest in renewing the MoU for another five-year period, extending until 2029.
The Indian delegation will have the opportunity to interact with the alumni of NCGG programs and gain insights into the Ashrayan Project in Narayanganj district, showcasing India’s interest in understanding and supporting Bangladesh’s developmental initiatives.
