Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derails in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda
Several coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, according to reports from television channels. TV visuals showed coaches of the train on their sides along the tracks, with passengers sitting outside with their luggage.
“The accident took place around 2.37 pm. According to preliminary information, 4–5 coaches have derailed,” Pankaj Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway told ANI.
“A medical van and a team of doctors have arrived at the scene, and rescue and relief operations are underway.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to reach the spot immediately and expedite the relief work, the Chief Minister’s Office said on X.
