The Ministry of Ayush has officially opened nominations for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards for the 2025 edition of the International Day of Yoga (IDY2025). These awards recognize outstanding individuals and organizations that have made significant and sustained contributions to the promotion and development of Yoga, both in India and internationally.
The Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards were established to honor the impact of Yoga on society, with a particular focus on its role in disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of lifestyle-related disorders.
The awards will be presented in four categories: National Individual, National Organization, International Individual, and International Organization. Winners will receive a trophy, certificate, and a cash award of Rs. 25 lakh.
To be eligible for the National Individual category, applicants must be 40 years or older and have at least 20 years of dedicated service in promoting Yoga. Applications and nominations for all categories can be submitted through the MyGov platform on or before March 31. The link will also be available on the Ministry of Ayush’s official website and the websites of its autonomous bodies. Individuals and organizations can apply directly or be nominated by a prominent Yoga organization. It is important to note that each applicant or nominee can apply for only one category per year—either National or International.
A Screening Committee formed by the Ministry of Ayush will review all applications and forward a maximum of 50 names per award category to the Evaluation Jury. The Evaluation Jury, which will consist of eminent personalities from various fields, will serve as the final decision-making body.
